Cartier Trinity Ring Ad |
I saw this advertisement for Cartier's Trinity ring in my Phoenix Symphony program. I was immediately drawn to the glittery fingerprints. I like how this ad uses the fingerprint as a metaphor and a marketing tool. The glittery dusted fingerprints help to address the idea that the consumer is a glamorous individual and that they need to get their fingers on this product.
The fingerprints are also a metaphor in that this product is all about the consumer. The visual DNA makeup and personal impression that the fingerprint represents is used by Cartier to illustrate that this product is personal and "all about you, forever." It's a clever idea and visually very beautiful.
The texture that is found in the overlapping fingerprints makes this ad a lot more interesting; considering that the ring itself is already very ornate and makes a statement on its own. It's a great backdrop that accentuates this expensive and glamorous product.
